Silver Loch, Cairngorm

This is looking across Loch Morlich in the Cairngorms National Park. The water looked like satin with smooth silky greys and silvers providing a dramatic foreground to the darker distant shore. Framed by mountains and forest, this is a place I visited often in early childhood and still find very inspiring. This piece is built up using Unison pastels on paper, adding several layers and many hours of careful blending. Unframed
