Secret Lake

This lake is a well known local swimming spot in Gloucestershire, and I as I walked here, I was thinking about those intrepid people who practice outdoor swimming. The water is glassy calm and reflects the trees and sky like a mirror, and feels like a fairy tale. This was also the day I heard that I had been selected to paint one of the Kingfishers for the Kingfisher trail (more info on home page) and I am sure this effected the composition as I imagined the Kingfisher’s bird’s eye view. This is composed using Unison pastels on specialist pastel paper. Unframed.
