Sand Blowing on Arisaig Beach

A completely stunning beach on the Northwest coast of Scotland, Arisaig has so many exciting elements for inspiration. This was a breezy autumn day with the wind whipping the sand off the surface and blowing it across the view. I also particularly loved the way light moved across the water in vast beams, turning the sea from prussian to cerulean in a moment. Created over many hours of blending and reworking using Unison pastels on specialist pastel paper. Unframed
