I’ve been back from the Hebrides for a few days and starting to process the experience into images very very slowly.
I’m planning to get started very soon on a new collection based on this trip but I know I can’t rush this process.

Pony hunting for the iconic Eriskay ponies. This involved a bit of a hike as the ponies are moved up into the hills for the summer months. During the winter, they are seen on the beaches and in the town but I missed this opportunity by just a few day

More wanderings from The Hebrides. Berneray beach followed by one of Barra’s countless beautiful white bays. Heaps and heaps of shells in North Uist and a meandering deer with one antler.

I know…it’s not fair! Another ridiculously beautiful location for sketching today in the Outer Hebrides. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked through the dunes. Astonishing white beach in Berneray, North Uist.
Using a watersol

Lovely sketching spot this morning at Luskentyre beach. What a beautiful jewel of a beach. Simple materials today - a stick of charcoal and a quick wash of watercolour. Heaven.
