Painswick Beacon, which sits above Painswick in Gloucestershire, is a much loved beauty spot. At the peak, you can see Wales in the distance, and in the near distance, paths and trees and a patchwork of fields and woodlands are scattered. For me, it has a feel of Scotland, the height and slightly rugged network of paths somehow feels familiar. This pastIn the shelter of the cold valley, this little white tree seemed brave and rather valiant and is the star of the show.
