I painted this during my artist residency in Shetland in 2023. I was staying in ‘The Booth’ in Scalloway harbour which led to many ‘sea-inspired’ moments. This figure kayaking across the bay was completely mesmerising as the surface was glittering in beams and circles of sunlight.
