Sun on Black Rock Cottage
Acrylic on board
13 x 18cm
This is arguably, the most photographed cottage in Scotland; an iconic cottage near Glencoe’s ski resort. What appealed to me was this traditional white washed solid shelter in an otherwise untamed wild landscape and it stood out like a bright little friend. When I began to paint this, I enjoyed the long shadow of the chimney across the slate grey roof and the startling sunlight on the gable walls. Painted on Ampersand board using acrylic, all materials archival. Unframed
